The 10th annual Beast of the Play got underway on Thursday, December 10th at Roland Park. There were two double headers on Thursday and Friday before we got to a full day of action on Saturday.
Thursday Scores
St. Frances 70, Poly 37
Mia Davis scored 23 points and Ty Smith added 22 points including 4 three pointers to pace St. Frances. Tylea Galloway lead Poly with 10 points.
North Point 45, Patterson Mill 39.

Saturday Scores
New Town 49, John Carroll 37
Marayiha Smith scored 13 points to lead New Town over John Carroll. John Carroll held a 22-16 lead at the half but went cold in the second half. Savannah Simmons was John Caroll's leading scorer with 11.
Neumann-Goretti 55, Western 21
Junior guard Chyna Nixon scored 18 points for the visiting power house from Philly. Goretti went up early and never looked back. Kamiah Smalls added 12 points while Jasmen Walton scored 8 for Western.
Long Island Lutheran 47, Poly 34
Grace Stone and Celeste Taylor each scored 13 points apiece for LI Lutheran as they outlasted Poly in a good scrap. Kephera Stokes scored 18 points for Poly including 3 three pointers.
Catonsville 57, St. Hubert 33
Jasmin Dickey scored 16 points and Jameila Barrett added 15 to help the Comets run away from St. Hubert out of Pennsylvania. The visiting Bambies were led by Celine Tobin and Caela Russell with 11 points each.
Archbishop Wood 46, City College 21
6'2" sophomore Kate Connelly scored 14 points to lead a balanced Archbishop Wood team over City. Senior Alanica Bell paced City with 10 points.
Roland Park 62, Coppin Academy 25
Roland Park jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Coppin battled the entire game but they were overmatched against the talented IAAM runners up. Freshman Ja'Niah Henson scored 13 and Jeydah Johnson added 12 for the host team. Coppin was led by junior guard Diamond Hughes with 7.

Frederick 45, Institute of Notre Dame 21
Frederick used an aggressive press to build a big lead early and cruised to a win over IND. Freshman guard Makayla Daniels was very impressive on defense as she set the tone for her team. She had a great all around game as she ran the point efficiently. Deja Gee scored 14 points and Andrea Mwando added 13 for Frederick. Ja'Lynn Armstrong scored 6 for IND.
Deja Gee and Andrea Mwando had big games for Frederick.
