695: How old were you when you got involved with basketball?
Dejanae: I was four years old.
695: Where did you grow up?
Dejanae: When I was younger I spent a lot of time in DC, in the Trinidad area where my grandma lived. I live in Springale, MD now.
695: Which AAU teams have you played for?
Dejanae: I started playing with the Beltway Lady Cougars when I was 8. Then at the age of 9 I started with the Fairfax Stars. My 9U team finished 5th at AAU nationals and then at 10 and 11U we won back to back AAU national championships. Then I was asked to move up two years and play 14U in 2010 and this past summer I payed on the 15u showcase team.
695: What position are you most comfortable playing?
Dejanae: Forward. I can play both forward positions, I'm working on playing multiple positions.
695: What do you need to work on with your game?
Dejanae: I can continue to work on all aspects of my game.
695: What are your goals for this season?
Dejanae: To do my best to have a successful freshman season.
695: What was the highlight of the summer for you?
Dejanae: Going to Nike Nationals.
695: Tell me about a funny AAU road trip...
Dejanae: When we went to AAU Super Showcase in Orlando. We were stuck in traffic and my teammate Stephanie Cheney was sticking her head out the window making funny faces at other cars stuck in traffic.
695: What do you do besides play ball for fun?
Dejanae: I go watch basketball games.
695: Who is the funniest teammate you ever had?
Dejanae: Stephanie Cheney.
695: What is your favorite food and who do you like to cook it?
Dejanae: I like my mom's chicken.
695: What artists do you listen to on your Ipod?
Dejanae: Bone Thugs and Maze featuring Frankie Beverly.
695: Wow, that's old school stuff for a youngster. Tell me something people might not know about you...
Dejanae: I have a little brother(Joshua) who is 13, he doesn't like to come to my games or to watch basketball because he is visually impaired and can't follow the game that well.
