695: How old were you when you started playing ball?
Domo: Well I always stuck around my two older brothers (Sean and Josh) who were ballaholics. That was at a young age, but my first time actually playing with a team and a organization was when I was in the first grade. I played on a county basketball team called Laurel Wildcats.
695: Did you play any other sports?
Domo: Yes, I actually did. I was maybe in the seventh grade and my step-father was an assistant coach for a Pop Warner football team. They were also called the Laurel Wildcats. I quit after the first couple of practices because I didn't want to hurt any of the boy's feelings (laughing), but honestly I stopped because I didn't want to risk my chances of playing ball.
695: Where did you grow up?
Domo: L Town Stand Up!!!! I grew up in Laurel, MD!
695: Which AAU teams have you played for?
Domo: Ahhh,I've played with the Maryland Lady Crusaders, Alana Beard's Future, Love Elite, and last but not least LADY TERPS!!!!!!!!!!!!
695: Tell me about a funny AAU road trip...
Domo: This Summer At Penn State's Tournament! Man, when I say I trust my teammates, I TRUST THEM. Anywho, we all went out to eat at this Chinese buffet. Pandora Wilson, whose my bestfriend, had this green looking thing on her plate and I thought it was guacamole. So I asked if I could have some and she took a minute for it to process and she said, "Yeah, sure you can". Believe it or not, it was NOT guacamole instead it was Wasabi!!! Man, if I never tasted hottness in my life, oh my God I really thought I was going to suffer from a first degree burn in my mouth! It was unreal. My teammates were dying of laughter, and I was just chugging some H2O down. I love em'!
695: You transferred to Riverdale Baptist from Holy Cross. How has that adjustment been for you so far?
Domo: Whew, that's a touchy subject. Everyone who know's me, knew that I repped Holy Cross like no other. My Career there was quite successful, but God makes changes for the better. Throughout this movement, I actually feel happy. I am loved, I am cared for, and I am apart of a family who is about business but FAMILY also. Not saying that Holy Cross didn't have any of that, but RBS held out open arms for me and wanted to see me succeed despite what was happening. I couldn't ask for anything more. Riverdale is a successful program, and I'm happy that I'm apart of it!
695: What are your goals for this high school season?
Domo: I always told my family that if I hadn't gotten a championship throughout my years, that I was going to get it my senior year. So my goal for this year is to be a threat on Riverdale and get a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP that these girls worked so hard to get and I'm going to do my part to help get that.
695: What do you need to add to your game?
Domo: Ahhh, I need to recognize my opponents weaknesses a little faster and adjust to it. I also need to be a bigger threat on the defensive end. From my footwork to my body posture. Offensively, I need to get better with my dribble drive and dish moves.
695: You committed to Towson before you finished all your visits. How did you know that was the right school for you?
Domo: I was always told to go where I'm loved. Coach Joi Jefferson has been on my case for about two years now. Once I had the chance to speak with them, I knew it was about business. I knew that they were excited for me to visit just as much as I was. Towson was my first official. I had visits planned for James Madison and Stony Brook University after, but for some reason when I left Towson I just had that "feeling". The players showed me a great time and showed me the real them. They showed me Towson Women's Basketball outside of basketball. The vibe from each and every one of them was genuine. I couldn't ask for more. The one on one time I had with Coach Matthews was the realest. He went from smiling to his "serious" face and told me everything he had to offer on the basketball court and from being a person once I graduated from the University. Everything I said, he paid attention to. Even from my most embarrassing stories to me just saying a fact about myself. I prayed about it, and the same night I had a dream of Coach Rob Hildreth ( AAU Lady Terps Head Coach) and Coach Matthews laughing and from then on, I knew Towson was for me.
695: Those were some nice dance moves you busted out at Midnight Madness. Are you the first one on the floor at the parties?
Domo: (laughs) You Peeped My TU Swag?? Well it takes a minute for me to get warmed up, but once its time to put on a show, I got you!
695: What else do you do besides hoop?
Domo: I write poetry. Poetry helps me relieve a lot thats on my mind at the time or just when I'm in a writing mood, I love going to movies and being with my friends, and love listening to music.
695: . What's the last good concert you went to?
Domo: (Gets excited) My love, Drizzy "Drake" Rodgers! He was a surprise guest at Lil Wayne's concert over the summer. His performances are always amazing! His album comes out this month, So you know I'm downloading the leaked version and the album!
695: What's your favorite food and who do you like to cook it?
Domo: I love Spam! I cook it myself. I either make a sandwhich or cook some steamed rice with it.
695: Wow, Spam. That's old school. Thanks a lot for your time and congrats.
Domo: Thanks Coach Al.
