695HOOPS WHERE IT'S ALWAYS ALL ABOUT THE GIRLS
Battlefield High School's combo guard Elisia Diggs recently signed with Chowan University. The senior defensive stand out answered a few questions for 695Hoops.com.
695: How old were you when you started playing ball?
Elisia: I was 10 years old.
695: Which AAU programs have you played for?
Elisia: Prince William Virginians, Boy and Girls Club Hokies, PWC Heat, Dream, PSPA Rams, and Fairfax Stars.
695: Tell me about a funny basketball road trip...
Elisia: We had our first away game my freshman year and a junior called herself trying to intimidate me and kept hitting me in the back of my head. I told her one more time and I’m going to punch you. She did it one more time and I turned around and punched her in the arm. We’ve been good friends ever since.
695: Talk about the recruiting process and how you chose Chowan...
Elisia: My first visit was an unofficial visit to Chowan, my first thought was the campus is so small and back in the cotton fields, but the coaches and players were nice though. The second visit was an official to Barton College in Wilson, North Carolina where I got to work out with the team. They offered me a partial scholarship to do an early commit, but I wanted to weigh all my options and didn’t want to go with the first thing set before me. The third visit was an official to Mount Olive University, which I really liked and they said they liked me, but was not going to focus on recruiting until the end of their season. Meanwhile, Chowan called me back to do an official visit and work out with the team, They offered me a full scholarship on the spot and I accepted.
Elisia: Accounting.
