695HOOPS WHERE IT'S ALWAYS ALL ABOUT THE GIRLS
Chestnut Hill in Pennsylvania recently signed Elizabeth Seton guard Erica Mcintosh. Ms. McIntosh was one of the stand out players at the Senior Shoot Out and we had a chance to interview her recently. Erica is a solid point guard from the 2013 class who held her own during her career in the WCAC.
695: How did you start playing ball and how old were you?
Erica: I was four years old when I started playing and it was to keep up with my older cousin, AJ.
695: Have you played any other sports?
Erica: Yes, I played soccer and softball, as well as running track.
695: Where did you grow up?
Erica: Waldorf, Maryland.
695: What other hobbies do you have besides sports?
Erica: Watching movies and hanging out with friends.
695: What do you want to add to your game for the next level?
Erica: Being more of a scoring point guard for next season.
695: Which AAU teams have you played for?
Erica: Maryland Flames, Alana Beard, Southern Maryland Heat, DreamMaker, and Maryland Xtreme, DC Heat, and Maryland Lady Pride.
695: Tell me about a funny basketball road trip...
Erica: One funny basketball road trip was while on the way to Atlanta for a basketball tournament with Seton we hid one of my teammate’s stuffed elephants that she does not fly without until we were in line to get on the plane. She almost did not get on the plane because she did not have this elephant she always flies with and everyone on the team was just laughing until we gave her the stuffed elephant back.
695: What are your goals for this summer?
Erica: To get stronger, improve my flexibility, improve my foot speed, and get in better shape.
695: What position are you most comfortable playing?
Erica: I am most comfortable playing the point guard position.
695: What type of music do you have on your iPod?
Erica: I listen mostly to R&B artists like Beyonce and Jazmine Sullivan, but before games I listen to a lot of Lil Wayne and J. Cole songs.
695: Who is your favorite player?
Erica: My favorite basketball player is Sue Bird.
695: Tell me about Chestnut Hill and the recruiting experience...
Erica: Being recruited by Chestnut Hill was a great experience. It was nice meeting Coach Pruitt and talking to her and some of the players. I felt that after seeing the school and the team play it would be a great fit for me and it was just all around a great experience.
