695: How old were you when you started playing ball?
Meira: I was eight when I started playing and I've loved it ever since.
695: How did you get started?
Meira: My dad asked me if I wanted to play, and I was always open to new things so of course I said yes. That summer was a lot of hard work in training for try-outs but the hard work payed off. My first team was the Lady Tigers coached by Coach Ron.
695: Which AAU teams have you played for?
Meira: Current teams are the 2010 12U State Champs B-More Hoopsters and MD Shooting Stars (Adidas) and my past team is the Lady Tigers.
695: What was the highlight of your summer?
Meira: The highlight of my summer was at the Boo Williams tournament and in Ohio with the Stars when we had the opportunity to play in front of lot college coaches. It was a great opportunity because I received several DI college letters.
695: What are you looking forward to during your freshman season?
Meira: I look forward to helping my team out in anyway I can so that we can succeed. My freshman year is going to be challenging so I have to continue to workout with my trainer.
695: What do you want to add to your game?
Meira: Currently I'm working on strength and agility. I would like to become faster and to strengthen my legs so that I can dunk by next year. I'm also working on my jumper and ball handling.
695: All these McDonogh players trying to dunk. Who is your favorite player?
Meira: My favorite player is Maya Moore because she's worked hard her whole life and it's paying off for her. She's a star player and my goal is to reach the level she has reached.
695: Who is the funniest teammate you have ever had?
The funniest teammate I've ever had is India Myles with the B-More Hoopsters. Together we would always make practice fun and join the team together by creating nicknames for everyone.
695: What type of artists do you have on your ipod?
Meira: Currently I have a lot of Beyonce, Diggy, Lil Wayne, Jay Z, and Drake. I really liked their latest songs and I always listen to them before I step on the court to play.
695: Can you dance or do you just stand around at the parties?
Meira: I do a little of both, depends on the crowd.
695 Tell me something about you that people might not know...
Meira: I play Volleyball (I might do track), and I share a birthday with my brother and my grandmother. Also, my dad has trained me my whole basketball career.
695: Good stuff. Good luck the rest of the season.
Meira: Thank you.
