695HOOPS WHERE IT'S ALWAYS ALL ABOUT THE GIRLS
Morgen Caution stands a shade under six feet and she can run like a gazelle. She routinely chases down guards on the fast break Lebron James style. Her speed and leaping ability have drawn attention from quite a few schools, but she recently committed to the University of Bridgeport. She is a National Honor Society student at Institute of Notre Dame, so she will write her own ticket some time soon. We caught up to the 2014 wing for a quick one on one.
695: How old were you when you started playing ball?
Morgen: I was 7 years old when I started playing.
695: Do you play any other sports?
Morgen: Yes, I play Volleyball.
695: Which AAU teams have you played for?
Morgen: I've played for the Maryland Hurricanes, Maryland Sure Shots and the Baltimore Starz.
695: What are your goals for the high school season?
Morgen: I would like to receive the MVP award again and remain on the honor roll.
695: Who is your favorite player?
Morgen: I would have to say the leading shot blocker in the WNBA, Sylvia Fowles of the Chicago Sky.
695: What do you need to work on?
Morgen: I need to work more on my handles.
695: What is your favorite subject in school?
Morgen: My favorite subject is Spanish, even though I do well in all my classes.
695: Tell me about a funny basketball road trip...
Morgen: My favorite road trip was this past summer. We traveled by bus to Tennessee and Kentucky with the Baltimore Starz. We had a lot of team bonding time which included dancing and sharing stories.
695: What was the last good book you read?
Morgen: "Beautiful Disaster" by Jamie McGuire.
695: Can you dance?
Morgen: Of course, I'm from Baltimore.
695: What do you listen to before a game?
Morgen: I listen to Meek Mill's " Dreams and Nightmares."
695: Tell me about your recruiting experience and how you chose the University of Bridgeport...
Morgen: The recruiting process started off very stressful but as I minimized my list of prospective schools it seemed like 1,000 pounds was lifted from my shoulders. I chose Bridgeport because it has the main characteristics of a college/university that I was looking for in my recruiting process. The school is very diverse culturally, which I love because my high school, IND, is very diverse. During my official visit there, I felt right at home and the girls on the team and coaches were really nice and inviting. I can't wait to see what's in store for this high school season and next year's season at Bridgeport
695: Thanks and good luck the rest of the season.
Morgen: Thank you.
