695HOOPS WHERE IT'S ALWAYS ALL ABOUT THE GIRLS
695Hoops recently caught up to Pandora Wilson at the Blue Chip event in Philadelphia. The standout forward from the Lady Terps and Holy Cross answered a few questions about her decision to attend Drexel and how she likes to relax.
Pandora: Believe it or not, I started playing basketball in eighth grade. I used to play soccer all the way up until my freshman year of high school and then I suddenly fell in love with basketball.
Pandora: Well the entire coaching staff at Drexel is great, starting with Coach Dillon to Coach Mallon to Coach Dunne to Coach JC! One thing that I admire about this coaching staff, is that they are real! They were honest to me about everything and I truly appreciate that. When I first visited the campus I felt welcomed by them and I had this feeling that I really can't explain but it was a really good feeling. It felt like a family function. By talking to the coaches and building a relationship with them and also meeting the players and talking to them about the school helped closed the deal for me. I prayed about it countless amount of times and talked it over with family (My mother, my two older brothers Elford and George) and friends, but especially my aau coach Robert Hildreth and my mentor Tim Hawkins. I was very satisfied with what the school has to offer outside of basketball. the Co-op program is one of those things and there are many others. I felt comfortable on the campus also with the coaches and the players and it was all about family, which is very important to me. I am excited that I am now a part of the Drexel family!
Pandora: Well, I need to be more of a threat on offense by being able to step out and hit some jump shots. I also need to work on my ball handling because that will make me more of an offensive threat. Defensively, I need to improve on my footwork and also work on rotating faster.
Pandora: I love my AAU team! This was truly a FAMILY, mainly because the enitre Lady Terps organization encircles a family oriented theme which we carry on and off the court. We have so many good memories on the AAU circuit and especially with my best friend Domonique Johnson who is my ride or die! The most vivid memory that I can remember is when we went to Penn State. We were all chilling together in a teammates hotel room watching Pretty Little Liars. Then all of a sudden I stand up and Domo comes up and gives me a massive, painful wedgie and everybody including myself was laughing so hard.
Pandora: I have a variety of artists on my ipod, ranging from Drake, Wale, Beyonce, Nikki Minaj, Kesha, Marvin Gaye, Micheal Jackson and Kirk Franklin.
Pandora: I am the youngest child out of three, I used to play the drums and I am thinking about starting that up again and I have been raised by a single mother since I was about 5 years old. God bless her!
