Woodlawn's Shadequa Longus slowed down long enough  between college visits to answer a few questions for 695Hoops. The senior point guard from Baltimore's Gwynn Oak area has been the driving force behind Woodlawn's early season success. 

695:  How old were you when you started playing ball?

Shadequa: I was like 5 when I started playing.

695:  Where did you grow up?

Shadequa: I grew up in Baltimore, around Gwynn Oak.

695:  What AAU teams have you played for?

Shadequa: I have played for the MD Lady Tigers and most recently the Baltimore Storm. 

695:  Tell me about a funny AAU road trip story...

Shadequa: One of the funniest AAU roadtrips i can think of is when we went to Penn State for the Blue Chip  tournament. On our way to one of our games it was a couple of girls in one van with me as well as the coach and the team mom. The team mom had cut on some music that we liked but she said it was to early to listen to it, so she cut it off. So we all looked around at each other and we started making our own music and dancing with each other. Then our team mom joined us and we recorded each other dancing one by one, just having a good time. 

695:  Who is you favorite player?

Shadequa:  My favorite player is Candice Parker and I also admire Lebron James because no matter what they always give 100% and more in every game they play in.

695:  What is your all time favorite movie?

Shadequa: My favorite movie is Alvin and The Chipmunks, the Squeakel.

695:  What's you favorite food and who do you want to cook it?

Shadequa: My favorite food is sweet potatoes with marshmallows and I would want my mother to cook it.

695:  What are your goals for this high school season?

Shadequa: My goal is to be a threat on offense and defense, be a leader to my  team and to lead my team to a championship. I just want to improve all around.  

695:  What are you planning to study in college?

Shadequa: I plan to study Sports Management.  

695:  What do you need to work on with your game?

Shadequa: I want to make my left hand stronger and make my shot more consistent.

695:  Who is your funniest teammate at Woodlawn?

Shadequa: My best friend Victoria Loving is the funniest one on the team

695: Do you talk trash on the court?

Shadequa: I talk a little sometimes.

695: What do you love about playing this game?

Shadequa: I like the competition. I like how it feels when you win after putting the work in.
