Taylor Murray is one of the top three point guards in this year's freshman class in this area. The 5'6" Murray is trying to put Annapolis Area Christian School on the map with her savvy play. Murray has played on two AAU national championship teams and she plays with poise and control that is not often seen in young players. We had a chance to have a quick chat with Ms. Murray.
695: How did you get started playing ball?
Taylor: When I was 5 years old I started dribbling and shooting in a local park.
695: Where did you grow up?
Taylor: Teaneck, New Jersey until I moved here at the age of 7.
695: Which AAU teams have you played for?
Taylor: Beltway Lady Cougars, Team Sol, Fairfax Stars, Columbia Ravens, Philly Belles.
695: Who is your favorite player?
Taylor: Maya Moore and Kobe Bryant.
695: How was it winning a national AAU championship. Talk about that experience...
Taylor: It was incredible. I had so much fun playing with such a great group of girls.
695: Who is the funniest teammate you ever had?
Taylor: Katie Kinsey, my teammate at AACS. She is goofy and very flexible. She can put both of her feet behind her head.
695: What is your favorite subject in school?
Taylor: Science.
695: What's the best part about playing this game?
Taylor: I love traveling and competing, especially for championships.
695: What are your goals for the high school season?
Taylor: Play hard every day. Play great defense. Win the IAAM Championship.
695: What music do you listen to before a game?
Taylor: Gospel, Hip Hop or R&B
695: Tell me something about you that people might not know...
Taylor: I love to eat and sleep!
