695HOOPS WHERE IT'S ALWAYS ALL ABOUT THE GIRLS
Joppatowne's Zameria Jones recently signed her letter of intent to attend Morgan State right here in Baltimore and we were able to sit down with her and discuss her recruiting experience and how she plans to get ready for the next level in her career.
695: Tell me about the recruiting process, how did you end up at Morgan?
Zameria: I took a few visits and after visiting Morgan it was nothing like I expected. I wanted to attend a school that takes both basketball and academics serious and I saw that in Morgan. It was a long process, I felt relieved when it was done!
695: Did you have a chance to meet and play with the Morgan players?
695: Was it important to stay close to home or did you consider other schools too?
Zameria: I considered other schools but I wasn't feeling them as much.
695: What do you think you need to add to your game to excel at the college level?
Zameria: I want to get better defensively, improve my shot and ball handling.
695: What's the plan for the summer?
Zameria:My plan is to work hard and get my game ready for college.
695: Are you ready for the move to point guard?
Zameria: I usually play the two so improving my basketball IQ and handle is important while playing the point. It's something I can do for sure, I just have to get used to play it more often. I will be ready!
695: When did you start playing ball?
Zameria: I started in the first grade.
695: Wow. What AAU teams have you played for?
Zameria:I played for the Edgewood Lady Rams from age 10 to 16, and for the past year or so I've just been training.
695: So, are you excited about the high school season?
Zameria: Very, I'm looking forward to playing my last year at Joppatowne and possibly going all the way.
695:How did you celebrate last year's title?
Zameria:I spent time with all my teammates and coaches and we just enjoyed what we had
worked so hard for.
695: Do you play any other sports?
Zameria: I played lacrosse in 9th and 10th grade.
695:Who is your funniest teammate?
Zameria: Brittany Thornton was the funniest we're going to miss her this year.
695: Do you talk trash on the court?
Zameria: No I'm not a trash talker I just go out and play my best
695: Who is the biggest trash talker in Harford county?
Zameria: Probably Tiffany Taylor from Aberdeen or the whole team in general.
695: What are you planning to study in college:
Zameria: Sports medicine.
695: What do you have on your ipod?
Zameria:I listen to everything from The American Rejects to Lil Wayne.
695: American Rejects?
Zameria: Yes, it's a rock band.
695:Can you cook?
Zameria: Yes.
695: What's your specialty?
Zameria: Chicken Alfredo.
695:Who is your favorite all time coach?
Zameria: Pat Summit.
695: Who is the best defender you played against last year?
Zameria: A few girls from Fallston played me pretty tough.
695:Tell me something people don't know about you.
Zameria: I'm not always serious and Im a pretty funny person.
695: Thanks for the chat and good luck this season.
Zameria: Thanks.
