IAAM Championship Sunday

C Conference Championship- Indian Creek (20-2) vs Garrison Forest (14-3)

Indian Creek 43, Garrison Forest 36

Indian Creek came into today's contest sporting a 20-2 overall record while Garrison Forest came in at 14-3 but trying to win their 3rd straight C conference title. Indian Creek's sophomore tandem of Christine McPhail and Aysia Ferguson came out with an energetic start to set the tone early as they took an 11-5 lead after one quarter. Garrison Forest adjusted and knocked down some 3 pointers in the second quarter which created a back and forth scuffle that ended with Indian Creek leading 19-17 at halftime.

The 3rd quarter was more of the same with Garrison Forest jumping out with a nice run to take a brief lead at 24-22. Once again Ferguson and McPhail took over and Indian Creek rallied again for a 31-28 lead after 3 quarters. Christina McPhail and Madeline Evans were too much in the fourth quarter as they both made cluth free throws and shots to hold off every Garrison Forest rally. The Indian Creek Eagles pulled away to win the C conference title 43-36 behind 21 points from McPhail. Madeline Evans added 11 points and Ferguson had 6. Marina Lazarides scored 12 for Garrison Forest.
