Long Reach 66, Poly 61

The Lightening outlasted Poly in one of the best semi finals games in quite a while. This game featured 12 ties and 23 lead changes as both teams took turns making runs at each other. Junior guard Lyric Swann (UMBC Recruit) delivered a 4 point play with 1:06 left which turned out to be a dagger that Poly could not recover from. Brashae Rice led Poly with 19.

The Cadets from Frederick used a dominating 44-22 rebounding edge to slow down the Long Reach attack in an exciting game and clinched their second state title in a row. Junior guard Makayla Daniels had 29 points and 10 rebounds in a dominating performance that was similar to her 47 point outburst in last year's title game. Long Reach rallied to cut a 15 point lead to four early in the 4th but could never get any closer. Junior guard Lyric Swann and senior Kiana Williams both scored 18 for the Lightening.
