Washington is entering her first year at CCBC Dundalk for the 2014-15 season.Her coaching resume includes seven years of high school varsity basketball, 13 years of recreation basketball (2001-2014) and 12 years of AAU/Travel basketball (2002-2014). Washington’s varsity experience includes Pikesville High School (2011-2014), Institute of Notre Dame (IND) (2006-2008), and Institute of Business and Entrepreneurship (formerly known as Walbrook) (2009-2010). She has coached recreation, AAU and summer travel ball with the Lady Lions for 13 years and helps guide players to major universities such as West Virginia University, University of Pittsburgh, Louisiana State University, Rider University, Coppin State and others.Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, she has been a well-known coach in the Baltimore women’s basketball community for over a decade. Washington graduated from Mervo High School in 1996 where she was a volleyball, basketball and softball student-athlete. After high school, she attended Xavier University (OH) where she participated and worked in the athletic department.Washington is identifiable in the community for her involvement in coaching high school, AAU and recreation teams. She has coached hundreds of young ladies and helped many of them experience their dreams of playing at the collegiate level. Where are you based? Do you move around or have a central location? White Marsh, Essex and Dundalk, but willing to travel.
What should parents look for in a trainer? I think the most important thing you want to see from a trainer is that he/she is interested in more than just the basketball skills of their clients. You want them to be concerned about the kid, their personal and athletic development. Skill wise they should be concerned with making sure clients master the fundamentals of the game.
