695: How did you start playing ball and how old were you?
Genesis: My father introduced me to the game at a young age. I started playing basketball when I was 5 years old. Once he put the ball in my hand I never wanted to put it down.695: Have you played any other sports?Genesis: Growing up I played football, as I got older I played 1st base and shortstop and I played goalie for my middle school.
695: Where did you grow up?Genesis: I was raised in Southeast D.C. until I was 5, we moved to PG county after that.695: What other hobbies do you have besides sports?Genesis: I enjoy singing, shopping, cooking, and video games.695: What do you want to add to your game for the next level?Genesis: I would love to add a more consistant mid-range shot to my game as well as more speed. Each level gets faster and faster and I love to push the rock.695: Which AAU teams have you played for?Genesis: I have only played for two AAU teams, Team Sol and the Maryland Lady Stars.695: What are your goals for this summer?Genesis: My summer goals, I will be starting school July1st, Coppin State has a program to help incoming freshman obtain college credits over the summer. And also I have set a goal to get stronger and add a few pounds too.695: What position are you most comfortable playing?Genesis: I am most comfortable playing the point. I'm a pure point guard with a pass first mindset. I love running the flow of the team. But don't get it twisted, I will still give you 20 points as well. (laughing).695: What type of music do you have on your iPod?Genesis: I have Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Trap House 3, and some Shy Glizzy to name a few.695: Who is your favorite player?Genesis: I actually have two favorite players, Allen Iverson and Kobe Bryant.695: Tell me about the recruiting experience and how you chose Coppin State...Genesis: My recruiting process ws somewhat hectic. I was getting a lot of interest from schools but they were either too far or the enviroment was too cold. I was talking to coaches almost everyday. I got to a point were I was getting ready to just pick somebody. But I realized that the school I chose would be my home for the next 4years of my life. The reason I chose Coppin was I got along with my teamates instantly and the coaches made me feel wanted. I didn't feel like they were just recruiting a point guard, they made me feel like they were recruiting a student-athlete with the emphasis on student.
