695: How old were you when you started playing ball?
Jillian: I was 8 yrs old- Montgomery County Recreation League and at 9yrs I joined the Team Sol organization and played on teams that went to 4 Division I National Championship Tournaments. Our best year we finished 9th in the country.
695: What do you like most about playing in the WCAC?
Jilian: It is a very competitive league and was very tough my freshman year. I love the big games and the huge crowds and the rivalries against Good Counsel, St. Johns, Bishop McNamara and Seton are great. The outstanding competition makes you a better player. It is a great league and some say the best Girls HS league in the country.
695: Which AAU teams have you played for?
Jillian: I have played for a total of three teams. They are Team Sol, Love Sol Elite and the Md Lady Terps. All of the teams were great teams and I have enjoyed the total experience
695: What was the highlight of this past summer for you?
Jillian: Playing for the Lady Terps has been a great experience and playing in the Deep South Tournament and Penn State Championships was the highlight of the summer. I played very well in each of these events and received excellent exposure.
695: How was the recruiting process? Why Michigan?
Jillian: It has been excellent, It was not overwhelming at all. I chose Michigan because I love the school and head coach Arico. I also love the campus, education and Big Ten conference. I think it is a great fit academically and athletically.
695: What are your goals for the high school season?
Jillian: We have a great tradition at Holy Cross and every year we compete for a WCAC championship and a City Title. It is our goal every year to win the regular season and win the championship.
695: What do you want to add to your game?
Jillian: I play all 5 position and I have improved on my rebounding and starting transition from the rebound. I would like to increase my movement without the ball and continue to develop my shot off the dribble. I am also getting to the basket more and getting to the foul line. I want to become a double/double player consistently with rebounds and points and increase my defense intensity playing all 5 positions.
695: Who is the funniest teammate on your high school team?
Jillian: Usually our senior captains are very funny and are very popular. I would say our senior captains
695: What artists are you bumping on the Ipod right now?
Jillian: Jay Z.
695: Can you dance or do you hold up the wall at parties?
Jillian: A little of both.
695: What else do you do for fun besides hoop?
Jillian: I love to play soccer and I play for the HS JV soccer team and club soccer when I am available. Soccer builds my legs and physical endurance and it puts me in excellent shape. It is a great sport for physical conditioning and is also a lot of fun. I have been playing soccer since I was 7yrs old with my older sisters.
695: Thanks and good luck this season.
Jillian: Thanks for putting me on.
